A lot of times, a mover will tell you they have the best rates over the phone and actually be twice the price of a similar mover. You should also make sure and check the BBB for all the companies you check into as well. There are a lot of great movers out there, but there are also a lot of really shady companies out there as well. Protect yourself. In my experience using volunteer movers from the Elders Quorum or any other volunteer in not the best way to move. When you pay nothing you really get nothing in return. Don't get me wrong I love volunteer service. Just don't be upset if something gets damaged and you have no recourse to have it replaced. I have always believed that you get what you pay for.
